Case Study #1
Bern Medical's charge capture review was born when a radiology group was having problems with their billing in the Northwest; they needed to run a reconciliation of all the procedures performed over the past 18 months to what had actually been billed to the insurance companies. $2,000,000 was recovered in the first analysis. After the clinic had moved to a very popular 3rd party billing company, the analysis was performed again one year later and found an additional $200,000. This clinic benefited from the analysis even after engaging a respected billing company.

Bern Medical analyzed a Southeast stand-alone diagnostic imaging center with 14 locations. Bern performed the analysis on one of the customer's locations for their PACS & Billing data. After several iterations of working with this customer's data, there were no charges that could be recovered.

Case Study #3
In January an operator of 12 MRI centers in the Midwest wanted to review their charge capture process and identify any missed charges during the prior fiscal year. The operator contracted with Bern Medical who reviewed all procedures and discovered that 99% of all charges had been captured and submitted. Bern discovered 1% of charges, or $120,000 in contracted rates, that had not been submitted by their billing company. After receiving Bern's report the operator was able to submit the procedures to the payers for reimbursement.
